MANAGEMENT OF THE SANGHA
For the purpose of proper Administration, the Sangha has been organized into four zones as under:
- Bangalore zone.
- Mysore zone.
- Hassan zone.
- Shimoga zone.
The main committee consists of eight principal office bearers, consisting of a president, four vice presidents, a general secretary, a treasurer and an internal auditor. Each zone will have a chairman and a secretary. Apart from this there is a management committee comprising a total of 70 members(60 elected members and 10 co-opted members) from all zones put together. Apart from this sub committees are formed as and when required to resolve specific issues. These committees are generally, a) Hostel admission sub committee, b) Scholarship sub committee, c) Bye law amendment sub committee, d) Building committee, etc. The admissions to the hostels is generally done in the month of June by a committee comprising of representatives from all the four zones and finalized at the subsequent Managing Committee meeting. The first preference is to the Kowshika Sankethis and after this, where vacancies exist, it is allotted to the non-sankethi students. The admissions are free to poor students but from those who can pay a subsidized amount only towards boarding expenses is charged.
